"We Want the OLD Tokio Hotel" **soapbox warning**
Is this going to be a rant, I ask myself.. no.. it isn't... well maybe just a teeeny one
Its going to be me saying what I think
Basically, Tokio Hotel is Tokio Hotel.
The music might not be the first record that you fell in love with.. but its still Tokio Hotel
The style might not be that of the first music you fell in love with.. but its still Tokio Hotel
The age of the band members might not match your favourite poster on the wall any more.. but its still Tokio Hotel
The music might not "speak to you" any more.. but its still Tokio Hotel and you have no idea who that music is "speaking to" right this moment.
Basically, Tokio Hotel is Tokio Hotel, four very talented guys who are growing and evolving that talent into something spectacular, in my opinion.
As a tweet I saw earlier today put it, if you want the "OLD" Tokio Hotel, go and play your CD's and look at the posters.. and reminiscence about your childhood, rather than whinge about not liking the "NEW" Tokio Hotel like elderly folk complaining about "today's music".
There is no "OLD" or "NEW" Tokio Hotel, Tokio Hotel is Tokio Hotel.
Just as Bill said in the THTV episode when he was laughing at the headline saying they "didn't look like Tokio Hotel any more"
Tokio Hotel is still Tokio Hotel, raw talent, a great beat and musicality.. They've gone on record saying that the new music is 100% Tokio Hotel and they are proud of it, I'm proud of them for growing as musicians and professional individuals.
