Ok, now that I have your attention Wink

It seems that the innocent tweet; from someone who is going to be involved in the next video shoot for the Kings Of Suburbia album; to express their personal pleasure in being involved, has sparked a frenzy of jealousy and associated bitchiness amongst some fans..

Can someone tell me why?

Can it be.. *shock horror* that someone is going to be interacting with the band on a professional level?

Or is it that the person who tweeted is, from her twitter bio and tweets, a really pretty, nice person who also said in her tweet that she had seen Tokio Hotel when they performed first in the US?

Or.. is it that she is female?

OK, lets just look at this rationally shall we?

Its a video shoot, a piece of theatre.. you know.. "acting" ?
We have no idea of the concept of the video, we don't even know which track it is being filmed for, as far as I'm aware.

But apparently the fertile imaginations of some hormone driven fans have it as an orgy with music and woe betide anyone laying a manicured finger on "their" band member..

I'm seeing lots of  Evil or Very Mad angry comments and name calling and that attitude, frankly, is ridiculous.

More to the point, I feel, is this..

What on earth gives any fan the right to think they can express jealousy about anything to do with any relationship any member of Tokio Hotel has??

Do fans seriously expect that members of the band will meet them and sweep them off on the back of a white charger?? Or that the band members will see them across the concert audience and instantly fall "in lurve" ?

Being jealous of any relationship any member of the band has with anyone seems to be a trait with which this fandom appears tarred. Some fans even appear proud of that.

Its ridiculous and leads to totally unnecessary drama and makes everyone focus on how childish the fans are rather than on the music that Tokio Hotel creates. It detracts from what is important, and that's the band and their music!

Having a crush on a member of a band is an adolescent rite of passage but that should not be confused with reality in any way, shape or form.

Reality is that fans have absolutely no entitlement to jealousy or adverse comment of any sort about the guys relationships, they do not know them. There is nothing in "being a fan" which says that there is entitlement to have their opinion on who any of the band members interact with taken heed of.

**News Flash**

... the guys in the band are emotional and sexual beings, just like everyone else. They are adults and the relationships they have are nothing to do with fans, deal with it!

Someone in the THV timeline just tweeted this.. and I think it puts things into perspective.

"People calling female friends and women working with Tokio Hotel for bitches and shit. OH! Then I guess you'll be one too if you meet them?"

Its a valid point of view, to everyone else name calling and being jealous, "you" would then be the one "others" were name calling and "you" don't deserve that.. neither does anyone else.

Looks like this "persons of the female persuasion in videos with TH" drama is going to run and run.. so here are my views, like 'em or not Smile

Um, has anyone really watched the video to Schrei? That was a video which was incredibly raunchy .. or doesn't it count if its a party scene without interaction with the guys??

Schrei

Scream

The only thing I can come up with to even start to explain this phenomenon is that I think perhaps some presumably early teenage fans are maybe forgetting that the "young innocent" lads they see in their posters of the Schrei and Zimmer 483 eras;  whom they are trying so hard to "protect" from the "nasty grabby girls"; are not their age any more. They appear to identify band members with their images from earlier years. Reality is that the whole band is in their late twenties and assuming that they are non-sexual beings is actually quite insulting.

I think what annoys me more than anything is the assumption from fans that they have a right to dictate to the guys.

"Don't take your shirt off", "Don't let her touch you" etc..  or "Did she... DO things with you?! Did she kiss you?!?" which appear written in outraged tones which remind me of a maiden aunt making enquiries.  The implied sense of ownership that such comments have, is disturbing.

Some fans are projecting the fantasy that whichever their band member crush is "theirs" must be unsullied by any other female but themselves, and I find that incredibly scary in a stalker kind of way.

Comments can also objectify the guys and that's not appropriate either in my book.

It also seems that this "assumption of ownership" leads to name calling of any female other than themselves or their "closest alien pals" for being near the guys. Calling a woman a "bitch", "slut" or worse is foul in any language, even when leeway is given for someone not realising the offence caused because English is not their mother tongue.

It is also grossly unfair to denigrate any woman for carrying out her professional role as an actress in a video or elsewhere connected with the guys, and especially unfair if the comments are aimed at a woman who a band member has expressed an attraction to or an emotional attachment with as this insults not only the woman concerned but the band member concerned also.

Jealousy is green and it is colouring a lot of accounts in the timelines I see.

Here's a thought to leave you with.. if someone was name calling and pouring jealousy and hate on someone else in their offline lives, they would probably be called bullies. Bullies attack for no reason other than to either make themselves feel good or to make someone else feel small.
Fans who pour hate and jealousy onto the twitter accounts of women who are associated with TH in any way are acting as bullies, they are cyber bullying, stalking timelines and that, when I last looked, was criminal.
Makes you think, doesn't it..

Following on from this weekends explosion of juvenile angst... the comment "#Aliens are better than CSI, FBI, NCIS, DEA, Police or Detective"  (*insert relevant surveillance service*) as seen on a photo of the guys having fun on their downtime, is, in my opinion, not a positive trait to be proud of.

It's evidence of stalking. A criminal activity.
